The VTCT Level 3 Award in Education and Training (previously PTLLS) is a qualification for those interested in a teaching career in further education or for those who have recently started teaching. It will enable the learner to enter teaching employment and progress on to a broader teaching qualification.
This qualification replaces the PTTLS qualification. It certifies you to teach at a nationally accredited standard and meeting the standard required by awarding / accrediting bodies to create, deliver and accredit your own beauty courses and be insured to provide beauty training.
This award is designed to equip a wide range of teachers/trainers and facilitators with the requisite skills and knowledge required to fulfil a teaching role. This course covers preparation, planning and basic course design. They will also gain teaching delivery skills and participate in microteaching sessions. Evaluation skills and techniques also form part of the course content.
This qualification provides a sound introduction to teaching/training and is suitable for both experienced practitioners who would like to secure a professionally recognised qualification as well as those new to teaching.

Who Is This Course Suitable For?
There are no formal pre-requisite qualifications in beauty that you must have prior to undertaking this qualification. However, it is advised you have relevant industry experience and hold a nationally recognised qualification within the industry/sector you will be looking to teach within e.g. VTCT or City & Guilds Level 2 and/or Level 3 (or equivalent) is usually the minimum level required. Having such qualifications will give you the best opportunity for working within teaching beyond the award and ensure you are eligible to obtain suitable insurance to teach.
Students will need to have previously achieved GCSE English or equivalent to ensure you have a good command of spoken and written English to be successful within the VTCT qualification. Students will need access to a pc to complete coursework and online assessment.
All students enrolling for this course must be aged 18 or over.

| During this qualification, you will cover the following units: Understanding roles, responsibilities and relationships in education and training The aim of this unit is to enable you to understand the role and responsibilities of a teacher in education and training and the relationship between different professionals within education and training. Understanding and using inclusive teaching and learning approaches in education and training The aim of this unit is to enable you to understand and use inclusive teaching and learning approaches to meet the needs of learners. This includes how to create a learning environment that engages and motivates learners, and the planning, delivery and evaluation of inclusive teaching and learning. You are required to deliver a microteaching session and to evaluate your own delivery practice. Understanding assessment in education and training The aim of this unit is to enable you to understand how different types and methods of assessment are used in education and training. This includes ways to involve learners in assessment and requirements for record keeping. |
Course Duration & Cost
The course is tailored to fit into your schedule. All material for your qualification will be uploaded to our e-learning platform. This can be accessed and completed from anywhere. You will complete all your unit assignments on computer and submit them to us for marking. You will design, plan and present two short micro-teaching sessions.
Due to the nature of this type of learning, you will need to be committed to self learning with our guidance.
Option 1- Online Only £480
Your micro teaching sessions can be recorded and sent to us or we will arrange a Zoom session to observe the micro teach. You will need to do these in a suitable environment.
Option 2- Online plus one day at the training centre £600
Suitable for those who do not have access to a suitable training environment and require extra support. We will observe the micro teaching sessions at our training centre.
